Hello, Pastor and Praying Friends
I am writing this letter to inform you about how God is leading us in ministry here in Africa.
Since we finished deputation in the first half of 2020, our prayer was that God would open the door for us to minister in Mozambique but, most importantly, that we would be in His will for our lives. We, of course, had to deal with the lockdowns of Covid 19 and wait on God’s timing; over the course of waiting, we tried to move forward in getting closer to our end goal. We investigated several places to go learn and wait for an open door, but in each place, we investigated, there was a clear closed door, or we did not feel at peace with going. Our sending Pastor recommended that we go to Zambia in the time of waiting and see where God would lead from there. As we sought God’s leading on this matter, a door was opened, and we went with the approval of our Pastor and the peace of God in our lives. We spent 2 years in Zambia, and there was no clear opening into Mozambique. We began seeking the Lord once again as to where He would have us to be. After several months of praying, fasting, seeking the counsel of our Pastor and other godly people in our lives we felt that God was redirecting us to remain and minister in Zambia. God also used Acts 16:6-12 to give us peace in knowing that He is the one that allows and disallows according to His will for our lives and ministry. During our time here in Zambia, God has incredibly blessed us as we have seen a church planted, hundreds of souls come to Christ through Salvation, and many of those baptized and discipled.
I have often wondered why I initially felt that God was leading us to Mozambique just for Him to change our place of ministry; I cannot answer the question cause I genuinely don’t know why other than as Isaiah 55:8-9 says that God’s “thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” I can only think that when we started deputation there was no other Independent Fundamental Baptist Missionaries on deputation and by the time we had gotten to Africa there was about six families in the process of deputation. Was our purpose to raise awareness for the need? Only God knows!
I am letting you know that a field change with BIMI from Mozambique to Zambia has been approved by our sending Pastor and Church as well as the board of Directors at BIMI.
